Realised I still really like it vs a fellow director here who has changed his car now for the 6th time since the last March (same time I got the SL and I've changed once)!
He's gone Jag-Jag-Jag-Disco-RR Sport-Porsche Cayenne...
He seems equally proud of the fact he's only dropped about 40k in these transactions:confused:
Sounds like it's about time he tried Mercedes ;)

Washed the SL500, treated the leather.
Yesterday fixed the loose drivers window motor on the 500SL, then washed it, treated the leather and applied sealant to the alloys.

He went to MB at Cheshire oaks interested in a GLE but seems they couldn’t be bothered! Didn’t realise he is highly gullible and would agree to anything!!

Replaced the cracked rear light lens with a new one that came from Lithuania.
Less than half the price of ECP and its difficult to tell its not OEM.
A few pics of the job.

Here's the one being replaced

And here is the new one.

You need to transfer the bulb holders into the new lens

The old one is out

Not too much to remove after the trim is taken out.

Changed the right side tie rod on the 129 - the old one was rusted solid and couldn't be adjusted.
Adjusted it so steering is straight again and will do left one tomorrow and align to make the wheel straight again, then will do both lower arm balljoints (one was creaking when the steering arm was removed which suggests its on its way out) then get the whole lot realigned properly.

Attempted to swap sidelight bulbs for LED's. It seems my are not the bayonet type despite Autobulbs saying they are. They're actually 501's.
Similar tough luck with new wipers. eBay special which said they were for my car but clearly are not.

Took advantage of the £99 satnav update offer at my local dealership, and they reset the gearbox adaptations for free!

Free WiFi and cappuccinos with chocolate dusted MB star were a nice touch while I waited too :)

An old B-Class.
Yes John ....Mine has the Distronic feature but I've not used it , I've got a perfectly good pair of glasses ;)

Why wouldn't you use it? What does eyesight have to do with using it? I use distrionic all the time (good eyesight) and it helps me to be less tired and more alert while doing long trips......

Manufacturers have done considerable research and probably don't supply distrionic as a novelty.
