Within a month?
I read it next day, and bought a second copy on eBay to keep at home, plus found a pdf version, now loaded on my iPhone / iPad and on the laptop, and an interactive manual bookmarked on all devices.

Never ever read the Comand Manuals. My recollection of the early Comand Manual was that it's twice the size of the Car Manual?

Read it sometime during ownership these days
Used to read them start to finish but that was easy on a Ford Escort, there was nothing complicated in there- ergo about 20 pages!
Now I skim read at first then read deeper when I need to find something specific when the occasion arises

of course many languages pad it but it also came with many other information sheets on the cycles components.

So I looked it up in the Manual.
Hey that's handy.

Conversely my Honda CBR1000RA motorbike manual was carefully analysed from cover to cover because bike makers love to slip gotchas in.

Not quite the same but my R Class has hill start assist. I'd had the car a year or two before I realised it was fitted as I always use my left foot for braking.

When we took on Malcolm's 230 the manual was read cover to cover as it was quite a bit more complex than the other MBs we have.
Thev129 was likewise read cover to cover looking for stuff we shouldn't do.

The 210 I don't think I've got a manual for but it's so basic it's really not a worry.

Mrs LK doesn't bother reading manuals and as result got frustrated with the 230 as she couldn't figure out how to do stuff. I kept telling her what she was doing wrong which just made her worse. If she'd just read the manual....

I think you are an "Only when all else fails" kind of guy then.

The 230 manual is unreadable, it was translated from the German by a machine and makes no sense. It is impossible to find anything. It is 2 inches thick, but manages not to contain any useful information.

The comand manual is even worse. I am the third owner, and clearly none of the previous owners had read them either, they are pristine and smell like new.
