For a few weeks now I can smell burning oil in the cabin once the engine warms up.

Had a look and noticed wet oil near the oil filter housing and the belts.Does anyone know what parts I need to buy to fix this? From the images I've taken I can't be sure where the leak is from, just guessing.

Are you 100% sure thats oil, looks more like cooling fluid, may be worth checking coolant level.

Cooling level is fine. Have needed top top up the oil twice recently.

The oil
filter housing top is sealed with a big rubber o ring . you get them free with an oil filter cartridge.

Never known the big o rings to fail.
Did you recently change the filter and forget to put one on or replace the old one and put ann addifional on. They are hard to see to the untrained eye.
Make sure you get an original filter from MB (fleece filter).
There are a few i rings to change in the filter cassette too.
Good luck

There are 2 seals on the oil cooler bolted to filter housing, one seal under filter housing and one seal under the plate shown. They all go hard and leak.

Buy a tin of gunk spray and give it a good clean up and you may find where its coming from.

The last time was a service by the Indi a few months ago so would assume he did it properly. Will clean it up on Friday to have a better idea where it's leaking from.

Had a better look today whilst the engine was running an the leak is form the left side of the engine. It was dripping on the manifold hence the burning smell and smoke.

Rocker cover gasket is the most obvious. Are there any other gaskets or O rings I should change at the same time?

Cam covers and breathers on these engines are a common leak point. I'd suspect that.

The leak was from this cover on the rocker cover as a result of blocked breather hole.Apparently there's no gasket for it so used silicon sealant.

You may have had leaking breather covers but the mess shown in the 1st pics won’t have come from breather covers, too far away

Yes the first pictures are near the oil filter housing and was the first thing I noticed. But realised that the cause of the burning smell was from the breather cover leaking oil on to the manifold.

Cleaned up the other one and will see if there is any leaks there.

You will need to remember , that on removal of valve covers not to get any old sealant in to the oil l ways
Yes I know. Spent nearly an hour cleaning it to like new condition using industrial grade paint thinner (really good stuff). My old mechanic friend was doing it and he is even more fussy.
