The early C class models were Classic (Base Spec.), Esprit, Elegance and Sport.

Esprit was the "youthful" model. It had sports style seating in bold colours and lowered suspension with unique design wheels. It was a good-looking car.

As usual with C class I would suggest avoiding manuals and non-metallics. Esprits didn't have standard Air Con.

Actually, the differenes are only in suspension system (higher in Elegance) and some cosmetics-
Elegance's interiour is of wooden material,
Tapes on the body of Elegance are shining

think of it as a lowered classic. It doesn't have the trim or toys of an elegance or sport and so should be priced accordingly. Many even have manual windows!
