Hi all,
I am a brand new member here and also the proud owner of a 2002 Mercedes S280 Automatic that I purchased just over a year ago. I currently do approx 1000 miles a week.
Over the past while 2 problems have been occuring intermittently that are somewhat an annoyance and I am hoping someone here may be able to assist me.
Problem 1 : Foot Brake Release: When I apply the footbrake, and then go to release the brake with the release lever, the brake does not disengage. On one occasion, I tried the lever about 10 times before the brake would release. It seems to occur more often when the car is standing for a period of time (say overnight or during the day). I should say that at night, the car is parked outside but that during the day it is in an underground car park. Does any have any ideas on how I can resolve this please
Problem 2 : Drivers side mirror indicator: Intermittently, I get a warning message on the display that to check the drivers side reflector as there is a lamp failure. When I put on the right indicators, you get the fast clincking noise telling you a bulb is blown. However, the warning relates to the wing mirror which is an LED (not a bulb) and bizzarely, it is working fine. I find that the problem rectifies itself sometimes by just turning the engine off for a few minutes and switching it back on or with the engine off, pushing the casing of the mirror a millimetre towards the front of the car (not wise I know). This is leading me to suspect there is a corroded or loose connection in the mirrors. Can anyone help with how I can sort this and the other problem out please.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this
