Wretched French drivers! They will drive in the middle of the road and have now had a door mirror hit three times by cars cutting across bends (& then failing to stop) - twice in exactly the same place! In two cases I have managed to get away with just the mirror glass and cover, but yesterday’s idiot was very close and managed to totally wreck the mirror, but luckily I have managed to find a complete used replacement on Fleabay in the right colour.
So can a wiser head please tell me how to go about removing what is left of the original and fitting the replacement? It looks as though the base plate has survived, but the swivel portion that holds the mirror is a mess as the movable pad that holds the glass has lost some of it fixings.
