Hi, I have a Mercedes 300 CE-24 of 92 with automatic transmission which has a significant starting issue: When it is left in the garage for more than 2 weeks then, when started, the engine runs for 10-15 minutes and stops. I have to wait for half to one hour until it can be started again. My engineer has cleared the injection system and the tank, we have changed (2times) the battery but no solution was given. Mind that if it is left in the garage for 2-3 months it can take a whole day to get it back to normal (it starts and stops at least 3 times before normal).

THe authorized Mercedes engineers here in Greece cannot find out what this is and Mercedes Germany does not respond to my emails.
So, if anyone has any idea what is this about and how I can solve it I woud really appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Had similar problem with dry joint in fuel relay on 230CE. I believe that if you short pins 8 and 9 when it won't start bypasses the relay.

On that model I agree that it sounds like the dizzycap and arm. Try just cleaning it out the next time it happens, but eventually it will need replacing and only use a genuine/bosch unit

yes I would look at cap too - condensation with an engine heating up will cause problems with an old worn cap.
