Bought an old(ish) 83 307D to bring some horse back from Sweden, it did the trip fine but once the engine was hot it would diesel, run on over rev until stalled or I took the oil filler cap off.
Now its time to try and sort it, Its been sat for a year and now needs MOT and english plates.
Problem that I hope someone here can help me with is Dieseling, once hot it will sometimes run on and rev until stalled. Someone suggested blocked crankcase breather but I can't find one? am I being thick?
There's a little rubber pipe that vents rocker box pressure to the inlet manifold and when I take this off there is loads of pressure in the rocker box, in fact if I put my finger over the rocker box hole it very quickly builds up pressure and stops the engine!
So two questions, is there a breather and where is it? and could this be the problem.....
