hi ,
seen many threads re. changing the kompressor oil
there are 3 versions
1) fill oil till it drips out of the fill hole(like the differential)
2) fill 150ml
3) fill the same amount that was removed.

the third option sounds a bit dubious as i am not only replacing old oil, i am also replacing lost oil.
any thoughts re. filling till it drips out or 150ml?
cheers raj

To do it properly you need to remove the sc and tip it up imo.

Yup, need to tip it on its end, or you will never get the all the old oil out. :p

You can half change it, but you wont know how much is in it .150ml as you say. Up to the fill plug is too high.

If you remove it, you get the opportunity to re lubricate the bearings on the rear of the SC near the inlet.

had an hour to myself this morning.
i know that removing and tipping the SC is the best/ideal way to removing the oil.
due to lack of any foreseeable time to R and R the SC i tried the syringe method.

DEFINITELY PUT CLOTH UNDER THE PLUG SCREW BEFORE REMOVING..

surprisingly only managed to get 30ml of oil out, no mater which way i angled the flexi syringe tube.
as there is no way of knowing how much oil is in there and the SC not making any dubious sound, so i replaced 35ml of oil.
would love to service the SC but i don’t have the time and i presume its 5+ hours job if sent to specilist.

i put the remaining 1 litre JET 2 oil in a glass bottle. will try on my CL55k instead next week.

thanks again raj
