Hi there,

My wife's A Class has a strange problem. It starts ok and runs fine, but the first time you go over 3000 rpm it seems to go into limp home mode and won't rev higher than 3000. It's also quite slow but will happily bomb along at 70 - 80 in top as it's less than 3000 rpm. The engine resets itself when it is restarted and you go through the whole thing again, and again.......

Any clues, anyone?

Thanks

Willie

Do you hear and whoosing or sound of air escaping, you may have a charge air pressure fault, which puts it into limp home. A split hose oer damaged intercooler?
There are many faults which could cause this syptoms, you may need a star check

Agreed. Best bet is to get a dealer to check it over.
