A-Class Speed Sensor Transmission Fault - buy new or refurbished unit?

Still looking to repair my A200 diesel A-Class, and have been quoted nearly £1000 for the part, new from Merc, but have just come across this on e-Bay. Has anyone replaced with a refurbished part? If so, was it successful & how long did it last? Mine's a 2006, so would love it last at least a couple more years...

Surely you could get a replacement gearbox fitted for less than £1000.

The speed sensor transmission. I had that fault on my CL500, new electro plate supplied and fitted by WG in Harrow inc trans fluid change and filter was under 500.
-Don't think a 'refurb' would be wise if another bit of it fails some time soon, yes they may replace it but you would have to pay for all the labour/trans fluids again. Check the warranty.

Yes, speak to Des (Forrera) - he's always helpful, and knows the 168/169/245 inside out.
One of his specialities - automatic gearboxes, both 168 and CVT (169/245).

Actronics will repair the sensors on the speed plates for about £300.

Always use them, never an issue with the repair.
