I like the look if it and the OEM tint is not too dark (A friend has Limo Tint on his and regrets it as it is way too dark). It is also good with my kids as it provides them with privacy

I've always had Smoke tint all round, on previous cars (not the windscreen) done at Pentagon Autotint, not had any problems at all, always passed the MOT, never got pulled and perfectly fine at night, so guess I'm going to Hell. o_O :)

What % is that on your front door windows ?

Kinda had thoughts on the very lightest of tint to lessen the contrast of 3/4 privacy glass .

An old B-Class.
.............

I’d also recommend some advanced training,.............
I’d recommend the same for bikers (motorised and pedal power) and in particular, intense training on: in the event of “biker vs car” the car will usually win no matter what their “rights on the road” are.

I remember my wife (very uncharacteristically) playing chicken with with a 18 wheeler on the I 15 just outside Las Vegas. She was not going to move out of her lane to let the rig onto the motorway until I yelled at her. Her: “I had the right of way”. Me: “Maybe, but he would have squashed us."

I’m not a fan of tints but have had them on several cars in hot countries where they served a practical purpose.

Untinted windows also give other motorists better visibility as they can see through the car alongside rather than having their vision totally obscured, as they would if there was a large SUV or lorry there.

My son has a 2019 E53 AMG and all the windows seem to be heavily tinted - especially the rear. It would probably alter my buying decision if that tinting was not an option. IMO, the dark tinting after the B pillar, makes it look like a panel van.

This is more than enough tinting.

Front side windows have to let 70% through and the windscreen 75%

along with fishnet stocking, high heels and a basque top.
I can't see the attraction myself, the stockings leave a mark on my legs and, the heels are positively hard for me to walk in.
I don't mind the basque top though, I can tuck a few spanners along the top while I'm working on the mo mo.

To be honest, Gaz, I don't know the % just that it was called Smoke, like I said no problems whatsoever and looked great. :)

I understood that front door windows on all cars were pretty much the max legal tint from factory so ANY tint would put them over the legal max.

Ironically, a few years back at work, the bloke that would jump on you for any safety breach had a Merc C Class with added tinted film on the front windows. I casually asked him one morning if his windows were legal .... his reply was 'WTF has it to do with you?'
So much for elf n safety!

This is it , the very lightest front tint isn't going to get the attention !

I've been in vehicles that have dark tint film on them & night time vision is impaired however the factory 'limo' tint on my car doesn't really make any difference.

When I bought my C300 in 2020, the MB salesman went through everything in stock or in the pipeline. I had a few likes and a few hates, not black, no wheels larger than 18", premium, decent metallic, full leather and definitely no "privacy glass" chav fantastic. He found me one on the quayside in Bremerhaven, but it was the only one, half of all the unsold 300s seemed to be diesel and black, almost all with rear tints. I can understand why some like them, small children in the back, salesmen with estates etc, but I'd rather see where I'm going.
