I live in a village in South Wales and have just purchased an used Merceded-Benz C230 SE (2005) Elegance. The car is in excellent condition for its age. My only problem is that the engine transmission symbol is showing and I am rather worried about it. It is not shining brightly but it is noticeable and I am not sure what to do about it. I have joined the RAC and wonder if it is worth calling them out to check it? Any advice would be great.

Welcome, not too far from me. If you can get it over to SK automotive in Swansea, 01792795667, they will give an excellent service and will not rip you off. Don't phone too early as they like their lie in but, they work quite late.

It was really nice to read your comments and suggestions about my concern. I have had my membership package in the post today, and have taken out breakdown cover with MB Insurance which seems much better than the RAC one.

I am glad to know about the MB Forum and that I have somewhere to come to for advice.
