Another boring 'which oil' question

I have to change the engine oil on my wife's 2005 c320 cdi. I've tried googling it and as usual got a million different answers. I don't have a clue as to whether it has a DPF. I know I need 8.5 litres,and possibly 5W40 or 10W40 fully synthetic. Please advise. Be gentle with me please!.

It's all in the owners handbook.
The spec almost certainly will be MB229.51.

As above , go onto eBay and search 229.51 oil , you can buy 20L of MB branded oil from Merc dealers (delivered ) for £53.00 . You won't find better prices than this for your car .

Thank you all. Oil and filter now ordered from MB on eBay. Does her car have a DPF does anybody know?. Thanks.

Do you have black exhaust tips?

If so, no....

Wipe the inside of the tail pipe with white kitchen roll, if it ends up lovely and sooty there isn't a DPF.

The 229.51 engine oil is good for DPF and non DPF engines anyway.
