feel sorry for the bloke I hate - harrison - looking at the footage all week it looks like he's a much better rider than either of the guys above - but the bike is a pile of junk 10mph off the pace at the top end

as for utter insanity - perfect conditions all week and yet only just getting lap records and the fastest lap was on the slow noddy bike - if I throw 100k at a 36k BMW, its not meant to be harder to ride - do these idiots have any idea what they are doing ?

yesterday (on longest straight of the season) brad bindler (KTM) got 227.5 mph out of the bike, and claimed there was a few mph left to come !!!!!

Week 43 – BMW – K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL and K 1600 B. Production dates: 21 March 2017 – 16 September 2020. Improper sixth gear sets were installed on gearboxes that were replaced during an earlier workshop intervention. This can lead to excessive wear of the control intervals in the event of prolonged driving at full load in sixth gear. In the event of a malfunction, the gear change would not be performed correctly or two gears may be changed at the same time. Summary:
Due to a hardware change to the angular rate sensor, certain sub functions will not be active until after a software update.
K 1600 GT/GTL/B - Sub function "Front Wheel Lift Detection" of the Pro Driving Modes is not activated.
F 750 GS, F 850 GS/ ADVENTURE, F 900 R/XR - Sub function DTC Dynamic Traction Control is missing.

Because of this missing sub function these units are affected by STOP130008 delivery stop.
The engine control unit (DME) must be updated to I-Level K001-22-07-506 or better using vehicle specific labor operation "61 00 510 Programming control units of vehicle".

The corresponding software I-Level K001-22-07-506 is available. This software update must be completed prior to delivery to the customer.

the best bit, any bike in the affected range they see MUST get updated before a customer gets a bike from them, or its handed back from service since August last year, yet the dealership were telling me last week there is nothing to do on my bike...

so the gearbox falls to bits locking up the back wheel and you fall off and die - yet nothing to do there, and the software is faulty and you might die - and yet again, nothing to do on your bike sir

Bike safe course, home and knackered now - morning class room and afternoon observed ride - somewhat ride focussing having a police sergeant riding just behind you for ~2hrs and judging your every move…
I really recommend it though and a great bunch of motorcyclists

Similar - I’ve completed IAM for car and Bike - they’re more in-depth - this was very similar to my IAM test ride and covers a lot of the same techniques based on IPSGA.

(Information, Position, Speed, Gear and Acceleration) - Information being the thread that runs through all of it.

I had a weekend in North Yorkshire with my bike club (the old VFR club).
A great ride out on Saturday except a massive thunderstorm we came through on the way back.
Its a long time since I have ridden on such wet conditions but I stayed dry, Rukka jacket & trousers & Daytona boots.

Great day out at Brands Hatch last Sunday 23rd for the BSB racing. First visit to the track and far prefer it to Silverstone due to the amount of track you can see without looking at a big screen. Grandson#1 enjoyed his first time motorcycle racing too.

Any of you guys ever owned a BMW R1150R Rockster?
There's just something about them I like, I think it's the quirky paint work, my own preference being for the copper coloured paint job.
There's one for sale quite close to me and, I must admit that the temptation is very strong to just say "phuck it" and buy it, it will also make up for the time I was in the process of buying one and got made redundant and had to back out of the sale.
I've no intention of selling my GSX650F as I really like it, I just thought that it'd be nice to finally live the dream I had, of owning one, when I was younger.
So, what's the verdict peeps, any one help me out with any info?

When I was a police rider we bought a demo BMW R1150RT from BMW, with a big discount. Six months the final drive caught fire on the M6, & rote it off.
