Safe to assume the Lady owner got another car and forgot about this one! Often garaging cars in London are done off premises, therefore "out of sight, out of mind" would apply, for 20+ years

On the subject of butlers, the was an interesting post a few months back about a top car getting given to the butler in London, coincidentally, which also didn't get driven much for years.

Says it's been serviced and re-comissioned so I would take it all that has been inspected

Yep, great museum piece, but I'd rather a well used and maintained example to actually have, especially with the stupid price difference

Totally agree...estimated sale price iro £45K is crazy IMHO for a standard R129 SL500 of no real provenance...be interesting to hear what it actually sells for at the auction...
