Automatic gearbox compatability

Can anybody advise me, ive got a Diesel W203, 2003 with the glycol problem. Box is out, its 722.699. I can get a box from a petrol, 722.616, will it work, or can it be adapted?:lol:

It is often only the torque converter that goes with the glycol problem,,very few ever need to change the complete box. it is often only the torque converter that is different on the boxes, and I think it will be impossible to answer will it fit

Wouldn't the gear ratios be completely different between petrol and diesel variants?

Yes they would be if this was the case,,it involves so much searching and one can never be sure

cheers, ive decided not to go for the petrol box now. JPat have just returned the TQ, and they rang to say it was water damage, & advised i get the box checked out. Any thoughts

The box is normally perfectly OK in 99% of the valeo failures

ok, i'm going to risk it, but should i flush it out somhow?
