My user manual explains what effect the C option has on the automatic, but it does not tell me what effect selecting S has.

Can someone explain it to me?

Thanks

C = Comfort, basically a 2nd gear start, and changes gear earlier.
S = Standard 1st gear start and holds the gears for longer.

Both option also have different reverse ratios. I believe C will prevent you from rolling back on a hill also.

Use C in the current poor conditions. It also changes the reverse gear ratio if you have difficulty reversing in snow.

C changes up earlier also, so as not to transmit too much torque just when you do not want it.
