Hi all.

I have just purchased a 2007 Mercedes B Class, B200 CDI SE CVT.
the odometer says It has covered 86,000, it has some service history but none of them mention a transmission change, from what I have been reading the transmission oil should be changed around every 37,000 miles, I never trust service history when buying a used car, so I take the view that nothing has been done so change all fluids...

My question is, are all the CVT oils the same, or are there different grades which are specified for the varying CVT gearboxes.

From what I understand the CVT gearbox in the B200 CDI holds around 5 litres, but if you also drain the torque converter then that's 6 litres in total.

I have been looking for some CVT oil in a 5 litre container but all I seem to find are 1 litre bottles sold at around £15 each x 6 = £90. however I have seen for sale Honda 4 litre CVT oil for £37, can that be used?

I have also see the brand Fuchs CVT oil named Titan ATF CVT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuchs-Tit...le_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&hash=item2a29e5204b

what's recommended..

Thanks
