Fixed price servicing is the norm these days. The dealer website should be able to tell you what to expect to pay for a B Service on your car, plus any non service items, of course.

Using an independent specialist the costs are lower, but the quality is at least as good, and things like collect and deliver, or use of a loan car are either included, or can be agreed. It is usually clear from their website.

A typical charge for a B Service on a 4 cylinder A Class is shown on the Andy Gale website - I have no interest to declare but I used them for many years and they do a first class job.

There are lots of other Independents. Using them does not prejudice your warranty. I am sure they all price competitively.

That's a bit dearer than a normal B service - what's included?

Run it through MyService to see the work it calls for and try selecting a few different dealers and see if the price varies. https://www.mymercedesservice.co.uk/home

Yeah I was quoted ~£400 for a B service on an E63. That seems too steep for "just" a service.

Well, it's not just a service, it's a Mercedes service. ;)

I dont know where in south wales you are but I have a lot of customers that come over the bridge.

£245 inc the vat here for the B Service. Genuine parts are used so your warranty will not be effected and you will also get a digital service book entry and a print out.

at 2 years old, unless the mileage is high you will need a B service plus a brake fluid change. At 4 years you also need an air and fuel filter. £525 seems high to me. Look on line and you can get quotes from different dealers and they do vary.

Funny how they vary. At MB Chester, straight off MyService for my car (fundamentally the same engine):
B Service: £249.74
Air Filter: £30.43
Fuel Filter £64.68

Oddly it didn't call for brake fluid although it definitely needed it. On taking the car in, dealer offered it for £40.

Aye. I don't think I'll be going there tbh. 400 quid to change the oil and have a bit of a look round.
