Hi folks,
Sorry it's been a while since I posted here. I'm looking at a new car. I used to own a B160 (old shape) and it was a great little car. I sold it a year ago basically because I needed the money at the time. I know there aren't many fans of the B-Class on this forum, but I have a soft spot for them.
Anyway, I've done a search of the forum, and I can't find any talk about the B250e - the B-Class with an electric motor.
I'm now in a position where I am looking at a new car. And I'd like to own an electric car. I only have a four mile commute to work, and the wife has a petrol car, so why not go electric? I've test driven a Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 and I've been really impressed. The Nissan Leaf has just about every gadget under the sun and a big boot, whilst the BMW i3 is FAST!
Recently I found out that Mercedes do an electric version of the B-Class, the B250e.
I haven't found any UK reviews of the B250e, but the European and American ones I have looked at seem to be generally favourable.
I've asked my local dealer to get a B250e in for a test drive, and they are hoping to get one in for the next week.
The only negative I can see is that the B250e doesn't have the option to fit a CCS socket, but for my local journies and a 120-140 mile range, this won't be an issue for me.
