Hi,

The BAS/ELP warning light on my C250 TD comes on after about 5 minutes of driving and stays on. Switching off and restarting clears the fault initially, but it soon comes back on. I'm assuming its a fault on the BAS side as I dont appear to have lost any power. Is there anything I can check myself or is i a trip to the stealership to get the codes read?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your Mercedes
A diesel
First hit would be to change the brake light switch, they become lazy after a few thousand prods.

Thanks Dieselman your diagnosis was spot on. Changed the brake light switch this morning and the fault has now cleared.
