I have recently purchased my first mb , a 1998 ML 320 .The problems that i have are , the BAS/ESP light on the dash is continually on , and the cruise control doesn't work , even though the limiter is fine.
I was wondering if the two faults were linked.
Any info on the problems would be great.

Yes your fault is linked. It will only be the brake light switch that sits above the brake pedal. Cost of switch £10 max and easy to fit.

The brake light switch was changed out and BAS/ESP light cleared.
The cruise control now works perfectly.
