belt tensioner spring

I have a 1992 w124 300d 210000 miles.As I left the motorway this moring i heard noise of a belt slipping. on getting home (only 2 mile from motorway) discovered that belt tensioner spring had snapped.
My question is that should I replace the spring only or replace the full works including belt & damper ?

Why replace something which is perfectly functional? Provided the damper is sound and the mountings OK I'd just fit another spring.

I would replace the belt as well.

The damper is a seperate thing, I don't think it gets worked to hard. It should be OK.
