Bi- xenon problem

I have a 2001 CL500 and a warning message appeared on the dash this morning, low beam R check lamp,
Sure enough no drivers light, swapped lamps and it works fine in the passenger side,
Would this be a ballast fault ?
Assuming SAM is ok (as both front lamps are protected by an electronic fuse and passenger side still works)

Any input greatly appreciated.

You have the main ECU, then the ballast that includes the bulb holder.

These can be bought on Ebay at fairly good prices.

I thought the igniter (with yellow warning) was on the back of the bulb holder and the ballast was underneath the headlamp?

That's what I thought, was going to change just the ballast.

Malcolm, thanks for the info didn't consider another ECU you wouldn't happen to know where I could find part numbers ?

Mercedes only sell the complete lamp, the part number Bosch is on the ECU itself

every merc ive seen with this problem , its been the ballast at fault , not seen an igniter fail yet , on the w211 the ballast is the same as many other makers , as hella n bosch supply them all so they are not expensive anymore and certainly not a MB only part
