blowing manifold or downpipe

hi

i just started noticing blowin on my clk 230 just started on saturday, i brought it to kwickfit but they said its not the exhaust i had a check myself but can't seem to see where it could be leaking from but its definateley somewhere up front. does anyone know where i can get it checked out or anything i can try myself? its srange because everything was running fine before and after a drove it on the motorway on Friday i noticed it blowing. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Winston, you only have the joint where the down pipe meets the manifold, or the EGR valve or the manifold gaskit, if it is a new exhaust the down pipe is the most likely

The EGR valve is means Exhaust gas return, where gases are returned to the inlet and recycled when cruising

ok, is that the rubber valve that i see on the rocker cover?

the manifolds on these are prone to leaking. They either crack or the gasket no longer seals.

Not many people notice it. Try and take your car to a specialist MB workshop for them to have a look. Kwikfit is not ideal.
