I have just brought my first MB which is a 2006 (probably a 2005 model as it was registered in January) ML320. I tried to connect my phone to it but failed.
After searching the internet I now realise that the car doesn't have the adaptor in the glove box (but there is a plug).
Can someone advise on the exact adaptor that I need to buy please? Not too fussed about streaming music etc - just want the phone to work.
Thanks, Rob

If you have a Nokia phone connector in the arm rest then this is want you need for phone (no music streaming)

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/392153206206

Not at that price though, usually around the £125 mark for the MB unit , the same- ish for the Viseeo units
If you don't solutions involve using the aux or iPod connection

Search on here, there are threads on this

Hi Rob,

I have a Mercedes CLS similar year it has a Viseeo MB-4 plugged into the adaptor in the arm rest. Allows me to connect up to 4 phones and access them through the COMAND system. I would think it's something like that youre looking for. I have attached a picture of the item that's currently on Ebay.
Cheers

BladeRob, get your car VIN then give comand.co.uk (forum sponsors) a call, they will give you chapter and verse about what you need to achieve what you want to achieve. From your VIN they will access the car's build sheet showing exactly what your car has (or does not have).

All the above suggestions assume you have the telephone pre-wire with the UHI connector in the centre arm rest - the only connector you've mentioned is in the glove box and is most likely something other than phone (mine is for iPod!).

My mistake - I should have said the arm rest rather than the glove box. I'll give them a call and make sure the car is suitable for a bluetooth adaptor.

Talk to comand.co.uk before you decide what to buy, adapters, especially Viseeos, can be a bit of a minefield.

I have the armrest UHI connector and telephone pre-wiring in mine, bought the phone specific (in my case iPhone 4) adapter which also charges the phone when I clip the phone into it, which a bluetooth adapter does not do. However, when I clip the phone in it connects as "Convenience Phone" - and sometimes does not connect! It should also automatically connect if I have my phone in my pocket but not clipped in - again it's hit and miss. However, if I have phone in my pocket and tell Comand to connect to Chris's iPhone it connects almost immediately! All that said, the hands free is excellent. It automativcally mutes the radio and satnav - except when the satnav gives an instruction, when it will over-ride the phone call until the instruction is finished!

If he already has Comand, it may have bluetooth already ! I could not tell you if, when my phone is in my pocket, it connects via the UHI adapter or straight to Comand, I suspect the latter as I have to tell Comand to connect to Chris's iPhone whereas in the adapter (when clicked in) it connects as Convenience Phone.

How much are you asking for it?

£125 which includes postage. Part number is on the back as per one of the pics so you can check if it suits your vehicle. I used mine on 2006 CLS with connector in arm rest.
