There is some bubbling under the paint of the offside rear roof strut (it probably has a more technical term) and also on the off side rear wing next to the boot lid.
I am having some paintwork done on some stonechips on the front next week and wa thinking of having this sorted too, but I have read on here that mercedes have a 30 year anti corrosion warranty.
Would the hard top be covered under this warranty if the car has not got FMBSH?

I would expect so. The FMBSH isn't about them inspecting it, merely that they want you tyo continue to use the dealer so use this as a stick. If you have fmbsh they should repair this FOC.

My car had a few tiny blisters on the bottom of the hard top, I put it down to the way it had been stored, but this may not be the case.

Update

Say the bodyshop manager at the dealer who came out with his "paint-thickness-o-meter", detected that the rear wing had had some work in the pat - a small dent that ha dbene filled - and so no joy there which is fair enough, but he recognised the problem with the hard top and said it should be accepted under warranty :D which is good news.

The interesting thing is that it appears you have to have the V5 in your name for at least 6 months before Merc will pay for the work to be done entirely. if you need it before that then you have to pay a contribution. This is because they apparantly had quite a lot of paint work done under warranty from "dealers" who had bought the car as "trade" taken them straight round to the dealers for work under warranty and then so;ld them on with a new paint job at no cost!! Which I can see is a little bit cheeky although it does mean more mercs are on the road looking good which cant be bad for the brand image. Anyway I have to go back onece the 6 months is up (which is in about 4 months) and give them sight of my V5 and then they submit and get an answer in 5 - 10 days. works fine for me as the hard top will be off in the summer anyway :)

Looking
Mercedes seem to make the rules up as the they go along. I didn't need to wait when I had both of my hardtops corrected under Mobilo.
