Good day all,

I'm looking at tuning my C350 CDI. Pretty much all my cars have been tuned in the past. This car will be no different.

However I won't be spending anywhere near what I have in the past. With this it will just be a remap and some breathing assistance.

Which is what my question relates to today.

I'm looking for advice on better air filters for the C350. I know it needs 2. In the past I have used cold air induction kits but these don't seem available for the C350 CDI so I'm looking for a lifetime filter. One I've used in the past is ITG and it gave some good gains on a tuned petrol turbo engine.

Does anyone know of any decent filters. Also i read somewhere you have to hook the car up to Star once they are changed is this correct?

Anyone got any tips on other mods to do? Not interested in EGR or DPF deletes as not taking the car far enough to benefit from those mods

Thanks in advance

Carl :)

Couldn't recommend anything personally Carl but all i would suggest is fit what ever you buy as you arrive at the tuning place, they will then be nice and new and allow them to map your car to a really high level.

As V6Matty, go with whatever the remappers recommend, I'm sure they will have a preferred filter they can fit at the time of the remap.

Good afternoon,

For all our vehicles we use BMC filters, we have used them on the SMART cars, the E93 M3, the 2 x Porsche 911 turbos ect... They always fit really nice!!! Have a look on Larkspeed.com they do some really good prices on there!

If you need any info on tuning then please pop me an email directly to anthony@gadtuning.co.uk

Many thanks

Anthony, are the BMC filters like K7N where they can be cleaned and re oiled for use or are they throw away and buy new ones after each service

Good afternoon,

Yes they are reusable! Excellent quality and have not had a bad one at all! Seem to fit so well considering its after market!

Hi Anthony.

I did email a couple of weeks ago but didn't get a reply so assumed you were busy or on holiday.

I can send again? Just confirm I have the right email: Anthony@gadtuning.co.uk

Thanks

Carl.

For those who have replaced filters have you had to have anything done with STAR afterwards?

No, just enjoyed the extra oomph

Noticeable oomph , or placebo oomph as I am contemplating a set of K+N`s / BMC`s for my CLS diesel.

Just replaced my filters with Green carbon filters and believe me they work !!!!

Can you get AMG filter boxes for a C350 CDI?

would be interesting to know that as well. i can understand getting a better breath due to the filters being changed but how much more would you get due to the air box being changed as well (on an oil burner that is).

Good afternoon,

With anything turbo you will make the spool a little easier but at the end of the day the turbo is going to boost at what the turbo is set to!!! Filter or no filter if your vehicle is running 28psi for example then 28psi is what it will try and make regardless of filters. N/A vehicles its different as the engine draws the air in!!!

I have found that K&N do replacement panels for the 350 CDI!!!

Do you have a link to the C350 CDI filters as I can't find the correct ones anywhere. Only for a C350 petrol.

Thanks.

Carl.
