Morning all,

Driving to work today in W204 c220 sport estate - engine management light came on with a skidding car pic on display. The passenger side warning light came on. I can get the warning back up on the display by pressing the ESP OFF button.

Car initially drove ok but 5 mins later I couldn't accelerate past 2000rpm & what I think was 2nd gear. So could do about 25mph.

Pulled over, restarted car & it drove ok then, but engine light still on.

Worth noting that my steering is out of alignment & booked into National at weekend for alignment work. Could this be causing it?

Any ideas??/

I think you will find all is well once the steering has been re-aligned. You may have to reset the engine warning light. There is a steering angle sensor that see's the steering is misaligned and has cut the power and put on your EML.
The ESP button turns off the electronic skid control.
