Hi all
We are on a roll this week! With help from guys on here the Merc has the SRS light sorted and ABC,BAS fixed! Thanks

One of the final things on the list (if it's fixable) is the Keyless go. 2002 CL500. Keyless go has never worked sicnce I got it. I have since brought a new ignition key (all functioning) and a new card. Mercedes Lakeside charged me around £500 and then told me they couldn't program the card.

The key does lock, unlock and start car ok.

The card locks and unlocks the car but when you press the gear knob button it displays Card not recognised and a picture of a key in a box.

I980 show no faults on keyless go
Star showed no faults on keyless go

Anyone have any suggestions? Not the end of the world but would be a nice have, if it worked.

Cheers
Tel

If the suppliers could not programme the card, that probably explains the defects.

Ask them to try again, otherwise, money back please.

I trust that you have your foot on the brake when using the card and trying to start.

Done just that Alex. They tried charging me an extra £160 on top of the price of the keys to programme them. Then said they couldn't get them to work but still expected me to pay the bill. Lots of shouting in their busy nice showroom on a Saturday got the £160 bill scrapped.

Yeah tried that Malc. It locks and unlocks ok with the card. But get the message when I press the start button.

This is not easy, while sitting in the car with the card, open the window and press the lock button on the handle to see if the car locks. there are amps in the car for the keyless go.

Just tried Malc. I get the message (card still in vehicle) and door doesn't lock.

If I press the lock button on the actual key, the doors lock and the (card still in vehicle) lights up. Also the unlock button on the dashboard starts to flash.

That shows that the internal amp knows. this is not an easy one and I will give it some thought.

These are strange things. I replaced my main Keyless go Amp last week, with the new one it recognizes 1 card but not the other, I have not had a chance to go back on STAR to re program the other card.

Member Goliath who posted on the meets section today had the same problem with his SL and the same system.

Thanks Malcolm. It's not a biggie.
Mercedes wouldn't tell me why they couldn't programme it (because I wasn't paying) but star and i980 showing no faults.

As say it's just a nice have

Yes hard to pick up on keyless faults, you should PM Goliath as I gave him all the info, it is nice to have.
