Wash & rinse not dry - you wouldn't want to be rubbing dirt....

Yep, wash, rinse and have a fresh bucket of soapy water to keep dipping the mitt in, and keep hosing it down every so often to keep it wet, particularly if it's a warmish day, and dust settles on the car almost straight away, that's the way I do it, seems to work.

Only recently I discovered how effective a clay bar was for removing bugs & general contamination from glass, especially windscreens.
