But why would a rear window motor be shot? A pretty low use item? Perhaps the reason will emerge when a new motor is fitted?

I believe the motors fail more due to LACK of use than through use. the motors seem to stick and sometimes even a tap with special tool number 1 doesn't get them going again
Its not lack of use Pete the rear window has to drop a touch every time you open the door, then go up again when you close it.

No Pete, open space........I thought there was some sort of pillar between the rear windows and the fronts, even on the coupe
I am amazed as the 140 had it from day one, thank you for that

I must admit Malc, i thought they had it but dont, window shuts nicely up against seal......
I do not know when these coupes first came out, the 124 first came 1986 and the 140 1991 so may they learnt something, it was the same with the 129, the windows did not drop till about 1996, maybe the early 140 coupes did not have it, I just do not know.
