I'm looking at c.2104 E class online (cabriolets). Is the gearchange via paddle only or is there a hidden gearshift??

I'm not aware of a 'hidden' gearshift my e class coupe has paddle shift which overrides the selected Eco or sport mode if operated during your driving... if someone more technical knows more...?

Do you mean does it have a gear stick? It has a column change I think

Column change on the right of the steering wheel. Push down for Drive, up for Reverse, push end of knob / button inwards for Park.

Handbrake is electric too, I believe.

For a 2104 model, probably ALL electric, including the engine!

For 2014 model, handbrake is still foot operated. Only W213 got electric h/brake I think.

Standard MB foot operated handbrake!
Auto selector and with paddle shifters on column, you can elect to use the paddles or allow auto to do its thing...

Ta - yes, must be column shift.
Yes, those on the ball noticed the deliberate typo...... next up, where's the Flux Capacitor on the 2104 model.... ;-)

In addition to the up/down paddle shifts you can use the auto gear selector to drop to a lower gear by moving the selector stick left and drop one gear per left flick. You can then move up through the gears by flicking the gear selector to the right or go back to D by holding it right for a few seconds. Even in D the paddle shifts are good when you need a bit of engine braking or speed retardation. Near me there's a 20mph stretch controlled by average speed cameras so dropping to 2nd or 3rd with the paddles gives a lot more engine control. Holding the up paddle shift for a few seconds returns to D.

You can't move a column gear shift to the left ;-)

Defo column shift on E class cabrio's and coupes, the paddles are the only manual intervention...
