Just generally looking through auto trader seen a nice car thought I’d see what my car would be worth …………£1,100 I can’t believe how little cars are worth these days.
The fact is the cars not being sold and if I do get another I’ll keep the car aswell.
New brake callipers, discs and pads, injectors seals and rocker cover gasket, front bumper re spray all that almost cost me £1,100in the last few months.
Absolute joke these stealers

Depends on if you’re buying or selling… :(

Buying - rare and worth a fortune
Selling - common as muck, no one wants them etc etc

Depending on spec and whether is petrol or diesel, that going to be £4k plus, no?

Dealer will need to make £1,500 plus, so they are trying it on or it has issues.

The thing about old Mercs is they cost. Wear and tear. You just accept or recognise your not a car person.
It’s gets to a point when what your spending outweighs the benefit of having the car ie not being able to drive it, that’s where forums like this come in that guides members along to keep them going with benefit and cost in mind :cool::cool::cool:

Had this with the W169, just a few weeks after a service eml came in and in limp mode, scan and as well as there being a glow plug problem, also a speed sensor to the gearbox, the sensor was just a dirty connection thankfully but the glow plug was a different story and turned out to be a voltage issue with the linbus (think that’s what they said) meaning a new alternator at £500 with fitting, car is only worth that so I sucked it up and decided after 7 years it was time to get her a new car. Got a W246 petrol and should keep her happy for quite a while
