I have just bought a '94 E280 and even though it starts right up the engine has been turning over a little slow and today i twice turned the key with nothing happening and the 3rd time it turned over slowly and fired up. Im assuming a battery issue... i have a spare battery that was fitted to my old 190d 2.5 in good condition, would it be ok to put this on? probably a stupid question...

Should be ok if it is the same specifiaction and is fully charged. Check if it is.

Would it not be best to fit a new battery with a warranty that you know is good.

Well knowing nothing about batteries the numbers on the 190 battery are less than the one currently on my car, i just firgured being fitted to a diesel it should have enough grunt for the 280. Just wanted to try fitting this one first, if it would fit, before spending money on a new battery

The 190 one is not suitable. The AH is too low.

Get a 74AH from a factors. They are only cheap and they are guarenteed too.

Hope this helps

If the battery is good,it will do for now, in the summer months, A diesel normally has a high output battery. A fully charge small one is better than a ½ charged big one
