There is a device on the driver's side (to be honest I am not sure of it's proper name and use) just adjacent to the driver's left lap.The device makes some audible continous voice (which I suspect to be Japanese). How can I mute the device?

Hello and welcome,

That's an interesting one - there isn't anything down there by default - is there something plugged into the center armrest?

One of the strangest posts to have read.
As questioned above, is your car a JP import, sounds like some 3rd party on (like a live navigation) or could it be a security device telling the car is moved, stolen etc.

Can you post a pic.

Did you try something like google translate - record the speech directly into google translate assuming you have a smart phone to understd whats being said.

Sounds like a bluetooth device of some description - they usually have some Chinese/Japanese female robot telling you that you're pairing/connected...

Don't know why it's continuous, though...
