E350 Remap at GAD next Monday

Well I am booked in at GADs in Essex next Monday.
Been thinking about getting my E350 done for a while, so now I am going to bite the bullet and get it done. Had the car about 4 months and it felt fairly fast, but I suppose I am getting use to its speed now and I want to give it a new lease of life.
Will give you all an update and tell you how it went on the way home Monday.

It makes a massive difference to the car, becomes a LOL car.

Rear tyres do take a beating though but I still get 10k out of Uniroyal RS3 which are soft

Thanks for the replies. My car came with new tyres when i bought it. I have only done 5000 on them and can see they are already on the way out. Never mind, its only money. LOL

Well here's my verdict.
Took the car to GAD's in Essex. Nice guys and made me feel at home.
Removed my front wheel and ECU from the front wing and did their magic.
On the way to Essex from Surrey I noticed a little vibration in the steering and thought a balance weight had come off, but when I looked at my inner sidewall as the wheel was off, I noticed that I had 4 bulges where the sidewalls were delaminating.
This I reckon is due to going over the speed pillows on my way to work, so now I am going over them 2 at a time and not completely over one.
So on my way home I kept my gearbox in E mode and took it steady as I did not want a blow out with no spare.
I did not notice much difference apart from it changes up the gears much quicker now and felt a bit disappointed.
But I then got my new tyres and started driving it properly.
In E mode it now changes gear sooner than before, keeping the RPM down and in turn saving more fuel as I have noticed that It is in 2nd virtually straight away and before you know it you are in 5th at 1200-1500 rpm, where as before you would still be in 3rd or 4th at higher rpm.
So the remap makes it feel smoother around town without it having to rev high.
Now when you put the gearbox in the S mode it is a totally different car now.
It pulls like a missile and you really feel the back end dig into the ground and you definitely sink into the seats now.
Still not like a 1100cc motorcycle, but much safer and warmer. lol
It is really worth the money. I would totally recommend having it done.

You should never straddle speed bumps, it also knackers your tracking, going over with 2 wheels is correct

Takes 2 hours max, longer on the E Class as the ECU is in the front wheel arch, there is also GAD North in North Shields

There is a rated remapper nearer you, hopefully someone can remember their details.
My remap at GAD was 2-3hrs, so I waited around.

And you only need a passport to exit Cornwall... We can't be too careful!
