Hi, not long bought my car, cla 220 amg sport cdi. Just had it out garage (MB)Glasgow, who have been absolutely amazing btw,had a few sensors replaced. Within 2 days, max 10 miles later, my engine management light came on dash. I seemed to have a slight loss of power, driving in a 40mph,after light came on, for approx 2 miles before I got home. Does anybody please have any advice/ ideas what this may be. Cheers

Your car is in limp mode and you need to return it to the dealer to investigate and fix. Possibly another sensor.
This should be done on warranty so not at your expense.

Hey, thanks for the response, just off night shift.
That’s hopeful....thing is, I bought car just over a month ago, from reputable dealer ( not MB ), within this time, I’ve already had 2 sensors changed, got it back, 2 days later....this !!
I’ve not had to pay for any of this work / parts, just had no car for days !
I’ve had it plugged into laptop, showing a code of “ P0299 “
Boost pressure of turbocharger is low.....87% ash content 0% soot content.
Mean anything to anyone !?
Cheers

Could be a split turbo hose. The most likely suspect is the hose that comes out of the turbo and down to the intercooler. Open your window and accelerate hard. If you hear a "Whooshing" sound it's a likely cause.

Hi, thanks for a quick response...... there is indeed a whooshing sound, so this could be the issue.
I’ll get it checked out with the garage, let them know it’s possibly a hose problem.
I’ll let you know the outcome.
Thanks again

If that's what it is you should be getting black smoke from the exhaust as well when you accelerate, possibly all the time. The engine is looking for the boost from the turbo and is fuelling appropriately. If the expected amount of air doesn't arrive, it effectively overfuels and "smokes".

There's a few pipes from the turbo through the intercooler and on up to the inlet to choose from. The first one coming out of the turbo is the most likely though. I've had to do this pipe twice on different C220CDi engines.

I’m not getting black smoke from exhaust, just loss of power, and the said “ whooshing “ noise.

Possibly the DPF is catching the smoke. At least you have an idea what it might be now. Let us know the outcome. Someone else might be able to chime in with something they know.

Good luck.

Hi, new on here. I have just had same issues whilst on holiday in Spain. I took it in (c220) to an Italian specialist in german cars in Javea. Diagnostics showed 0299. I told him of whooshing noise etc. He claimed it to be the turbo suspect, priced around 600 to 1000 euro plus fitting .

Not trusting this, today took it to British garage in La Nucia, told same issues to the mechanic. Hour or so later, he found split in top inter cooler hose.
Due to time of day, and my imminent return to UK, he ordered part locally for me to collect, and showed me how to fit it to same time and money.
I collected it, 75euro, fitted it in two minutes and problems solved. Full power, kick down restored, job done.
Excellent service.
The moral is, check you inter cooler hoses, don't trust Italian German 'specialists' and find a proper mechanic.
I could have been hundred out of pocket if I'd trusted that monkey.

Mind you, in this scenario, if the garage fits a new turbo at their expense...;) :D
