The engine management light came on during a motorway journey on my A180 AMG 1.5 D. Diagnostics showed the DPF pressure sensor... I brought (from Mercedes) the part and had it fitted, the fault was reset. Whithin an hr the light is back on... however at times when I start the car it’s not on and may not come on for a good few miles! The car is running completely normal. Any ideas? Mercedes near me cannot look at the car for nearly 2 weeks.

You need to programme in to the engine ECU that their has been a repair to the DPF, check and update the software, and possibly carry out a regeneration.

Gone are the days where you replace a component and then clear the code, there are other procedures to be followed. Was it a Mercedes specialist or a generic garage that you used?

I brought a cheap diagnostic machine that didn’t pick up the fault, the garage I went too had the proper kit, the problem I had was I was only in the area for 2 days. So headed back to Sheffield only to be told by Mercedes they can’t look at the car for 2 weeks which isn’t very helpful as I don’t want to damage the car by keep driving it
