False advertising again, more 129 'Limited Editions', what is it with these people?

Perhaps it shouldn't bug me as much as it does but why do people insist on putting false labels on their cars when trying to sell them? I could think of it as genuine ignorance but I'm sure they're aware what they're are putting is false but hope to hook some unsuspecting buyer who thinks they're getting something that they're not.

The second one has a set of Designo Edition wheels but that hardly makes it a 'Limited Edition'

They probably copied an advert from a previous listing and the error just gets perpetuated, but I agree that it's misleading.

It may be a Final Edition but its not an AMG.....
(Not sure its a Final Edition either - I thought they were all 320s and 500s).

I messaged the seller of the first one asking if he could explain to me what made his car a limited edition and why his 'original' AMG wheels were not stamped AMG as all others I've seen are. As you say the tumbleweed keeps rolling past

As LostKiwi said I'm not sure it's even a Final Addition, the leather dash was probably just an option and a previous owner has thrown a set of aftermarket wheels and a grill on it although I can't see anything AMG about it?

Had a reply from the first one. Seems a decent enough chap and gave me the VIN and reg number. A decode shows it came with 16" 8 hole alloys and is clearly not a Special Edition. He's claiming Autotrader had it listed by reg number as an LE variant so I suggested he go back to AT and get them to recheck and to be fair putting it in AT does indeed show it as an LE. N344JLW if anyone wants to check.
The rest of the spec tied up. Heated seats, black hood, Onyx grey etc.

Ah Autotrader!!

A pal of mine tried to put his BM on for sale and it flagged up as a Cat B write off.
You can imagine his sickening feeling as he had previously bought it off a Big Big used dealer.

Of course they (correctly) swore blind it was HPI clear when sold and it took a good few days of worry before Autotrader finally admitted they were wrong!

It must be the cynic in me as I presume having done his research before he bought it that he knew there was no such thing as a 'Limited Edition' 129 but he still went on to let it list as such rather than correct it prior to listing. I'm unsure how Autotraders error translated to his ad on ebay which was where I saw it or is there some tie up between ebay and Autotrader?.
What did he say about the 'original' AMG wheels that actually on the face of it look like cheap copies?

The Autotrader thing is I suspect how he valued it. Put in the reg number and it gives a valuation and model name.
