Hi chaps.

From the moment I bought my 300se everything went down to hell with it. Engine, another engine, etc, etc, etc ....

I can part exchange it for 380SEL around 1984 or 420SE 1991. Both cars have advantages and disadvantages. Both require work, but by the looks of it - 99% cosmetic. 380sel has LPG fitted ( as mine) and paperwork is easy on it. Newer 420se has some petrol pump issues and had radiator removed and used on another w126 that is armored. I have rad from my old 500sel (1988) and petrol pump as well. EDIT: forgot to say that 420se has slight issues with paperwork ( more of a inconvenience) as it will have to go through a similar check to VIC in uk. Its due to it being sorned for more than 2 years.

Which in your opinion I should go for?

Or anyone fancy parts of a 300se with ARS!!!! From what I heard its quite unique on 300se. Bit far away - Bulgaria, but can ship everything.

Automatic diff lock. Its quite interesting - using open diff, but when one wheel slips it engages brakes only on that wheel in order to transfer torque to the other wheel with better grip.

Sorry to hear you are still having problems.

I'd be more tempted by the 420. They both have their charms, but lpg seems to be pretty finicky as it ages and I have suspicions it doesn't do the engine much good overall, or the top end at least.
