High level middle brake lights were originally used by New York taxi drivers.

The high level brake light meant they would see the brakes of cars further along a queue of traffic rather than just the one in front of them. It proved to be useful in reducing rear-enders...and the rest is history.

What have I done to my car today?

Being paranoid of being hit in the rear of my car I've fitted one of (Dave) GLK's Flash a Brake kits to my car & I must say how easy it was.
Now I drive with the satisfaction of knowing that in the unfortunate case of heavy braking, the rear flashing lights are more likely to be seen just a few seconds earlier and the likelihood of a rear end Collison has been averted and the safety of my passengers has been increased.

Nice product Dave!!!!!!
Can you share info on the Flash-a-Brake? Id like to add this to my GLK as well - thx!

This is a seven-year-old thread, so I doubt if you'll get an answer! However, you may already have brake lights that flash under heavy braking . Maybe worth checking your spec sheet for adaptive brake lights.
