Hi there,
I have been trying to start me C250 TD today and the glow plug light comes up as normal but the car wont start, the IP seems to prime up. And i cant think what else it could be(change the fuel filter incase it was blocked). How easy is it to change the plugs on a C250? are there any how to guides online on how to do this??? Im hope to do the job myself to keep costs down, plus i cant get very far with no car at the moment :(

cheers
steve

Are the glow plugs working or not? Does the relay click in then out again about 90 seconds later? If the headlights are on do they dim slightly when you turn the ignition on & the glow plugs & indicator fire up?

I suspect it's fuel-related and not glow plugs at all. You could try cracking one of the injectors to see if there is fuel getting to them. By changing the fuel filter you've just introduced loads of air into the system...

If there's air in there then there may not be enough pressure in the fuel system to open the injectors, meaning no fuel, meaning no combustion

Will it fire if you give it full throttle & a whiff of Easy Start? Use with caution on diesels! If it kicks but doesn't run you've got no fuel. If it kicks & starts it's time to get a voltmeter on the feed for the relay & the plugs

Personally I'd give it to a diesel expert to sort out. It might take them all of half an hour
