Looking for some advice guys.
C220 D 2014 67k miles Owned for 4 years.- Was on a long drive (150 miles) sensible drive nice and smooth motorway. Suddenly noticed the car was 'loosing power' which I now realise is the limp mode. Nothing else wrong with the car at this point, engine runs fine, no noises etc.
Called RAC out and guy mentioned that the use of Morrissons fuel constantly may have contributed to an issue. Had multiple faults on the tester (SRS) which were:
1664 Heater Booster Module Control, short circuit to ground. 2076 Upstream 02 sensor. 2028 Lambda sensor upstream pump current, battery severely discharged / faulty. 2621 soot in the particle filter. 2359 Boost pressure, low pressure. 0100 charge air system, air mass too small. 2024 Intake air temperature voltage high. 2025 Pressure sensor downstream of air cleaner, signal voltage to low. 1664 Heater booster control module, signal line interrupted.
He cleared faults and car seemed fine. Maybe was just a loose connection.
2 day's later, same thing happens, jumps into limp mode but the engine management light came on this time. Again notice nothing wrong with mechanics of car. Drives fine, no noises, starts perfect.
Call RAC engineer says RACSCAN pics up DPF pressure and so he suggests 40 min drive at 3000 RPM. I happily oblige and car seems OK again.
A week or so later was driving to work and I notice some white smoke just loitering out the top of the bonnet. Heat is fine on car, no problem mechanically. Called out RAC again. Mechanic suggests it could be an issue with the wiring loom. Suggests checking all ports are clean, clears faults. Leaves car. Everything OK again.
Now a week later I start noticing a bit of a bounce through the revs in lower gears (auto). Like a spluttering in the acceleration. The glow plug light seems to stay on after I start car for about 2-3 minutes. Car jumps back into limp mode again. RAC called out for a fourth time (made sure it was 2 days apart BTW so the guys don't get stung with performance measures). Mechanic had a real go through and is seeing the same fault codes again (below). Towed to local bosch garage, those guys spend two hours on it today, couldn't find anything wrong but did say their reader was able to scan the car because of the type of reader.
Any suggestions / help would be great. Would have taken to merc specialist but to be honest I just bought my first house and money is super tight. May come to that but thought I'd run through the forum.
Thanks in advance. Latest faults -
1664 Heater Booster Module Control, short circuit to ground.
2135 check lines between cylinder 3 and glow output stage.
0105 Boost pressure sensor, signal too low.
2076 upstream 02 sensor.
2028 Lambda sensor upstream pump current, battery severely discharged / faulty.
2359 Boost Pressure; low pressure.
