... as the impractical nature of a car that leaks and has terrible visibility with the roof up has meant she wasn't really driven as much as she deserved to be...

Now here's a contrast. I have probably the most mass-produced two-seater convertible on the planet - a Miata (Mazda MX5).
It is such a convenient and practical form of transport, with good visibility hood up or down, heated leather seats, air-con, nary a leak when it pours, etc. that it gets driven virtually every day (except when I need to carry more than one passenger and lots of gear). It's just a fun machine, and boy, do I have fun in it!

Morgans have style. They just don't look like everything else on the road. I had one on order years ago, it was a six year waiting list. By the time the order was coming up, things had changed & the car was no longer appropriate. I'll never forget the test drive I took in a Plus 8 - exhilarating. In conversation about the ride, the salesman told me, 'If you drive over a threepenny piece, you can tell if it's heads or tails.'
