hi I've had a mercedes technician out to my b200 and he thinks there's a problem with the ecu but hes not certain and want to know what problems people have had with there to see if the problems sound similar????
has any of the members ever had faulty ecu on b200???? in need of advice

it was bringing a load of different codes up but his diagnostic machine wasn't showing up the ecu on it and it wouldn't start but then when it did show up the car started and that's what he's baseing it on!!!

the problem with the car is I was driving it at weekend and it cut dead whilst I was driving about 3times and came up with dashboard malfunction, abs,esp then switched engine off then they went but drove it again and srs came and went now feels very juddery and still cuts out and intermittent starting

Multiple disparate systems impacted sounds like an earth problem.
In theory it could also be a CAN bus issue but I would expect diagnostics to catch that and log it.
It may also be an issue with the Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) as that is also the CAN gateway to the rest of the vehicle.
It really needs putting on MB STAR by someone who is experienced with MBs.
You don't say where you are - there are several MB specialists we could recommend if we knew where you were based.
