Hello, and a question about exhaust noise.

Hello, and thanks for adding me to the forum. I had a C Class many years ago, just came back to the fold, recently buying a 2011 E250 sport estate. Love the car, but it's not without its issues. It's noisy on start up, soon becoming quieter as it warms up. Without getting underneath and checking the whole system, my immediate suspicion is that it's blowing from the exhaust manifold. Has anyone any experience of this, and is it a 'driveway job' to fix it at home?

Never known an ex manifold to leak on a merc. suspicions get expensive.
I think any job is a driveway job if you have the tools and knowledge.
What kind of noise is making.
