Hi all,
I'm a newbie here and to Mercedes-Benz and would like info on the 2011 model year E class 250cdi.

I am looking to start a private hire business and think this is the ideal car to use.
The model in question is an Edition 125, so I would like to know what means too.

I live in Tunbridge Wells and am a committed Italian car fan, so treat me gently please, I might break down!

Edition 125 was an anniversary model and the main difference I believe is that the Comand multi media and navigation system was included as standard.

Unfortunately it seems that this applies to many cars not just taxis.

I would say just the job, as they do a big mileage with out to many problems, this will give you a good profit. Hope this helps

After posting this I read through the forum and found all the horror stories about injectors and single width timing chains on this engine!! Now I'm thinking about a V6.
Never had these issues on my Maserati...

Welcome, the V6 would be the most reliable option and smoothest ride but more expensive to run.i think it's the wise choice

What about the hybrid E300cdi, does that have exactly the same OM651 engine and associated problems as the 220 and 250 models?

OK, quick update... I took the plunge and found a beautiful Diamond Silver E220d Bluetech SE with a large list of options at a local dealer and collect it Wednesday.

So update: I have now acquired a beautiful 2016my 220d Bluetec SE in Diamond Silver, which I collect Wednesday.
It has a bewildering level of tech onboard which I am looking forward to learning all about.
It will be put to work immediately as an executive private hire vehicle and will be my new place of work.
