Evening all,
I've been an on and off Mercedes owner for a while now, and always pop back on here if Mercedes things are discussed!

Recently I was looking at CLS's and came for advice..... then ran off and bought a big fat Jaaaaaag - which I'll admit, I love. (don't hate me)

Then my son in law was looking for something nice so following sage words on here we've got him into a rather well spec'd silver S205 C200 (Renault lol)

And now SWWBO has given me a lot of grief about fuel & repairs on her awful Grand Voyager (tbh I can't blame her it's woeful and we call it the skip) so the teutonic itch is to be scratched again with a nice big silver S211 E220.

So ladies and gents.... by this time tomorrow I may well be back in the pointed star club

So after that looong saga - Hello

Jim

Well.... it was only a theoretical MAY.....

I saw 2 today... 1 with a suspension leak in Chester and one in Bedford with a couple of dinks in the paint and a wierd history for the last 3 years !
Both 1 owner fsh cars, both 2009.

So I obviously left the one in Chester, in Chester sagging!

Behold, I bring you the new skip, to complement the Jaaaaaguar (and save it from the dog, the grandkids and runs to the tip)
A 2009 129k E220 Elegance. 1 owner, full history (nearly all MB) and 1 year MOT.... but strangely only about 200 miles since 2019... and only 8 last year But MOT'd every year on the dot.
I've got my suspicions about the SRS..... dash warning but no lamp??
Drivers inside handle needs replacing and the electric seat button covers have fallen off.
It really needs a service as the oil is about 3 years old and obviously a damned good clean - other than that, it drives like a tank (like the S210 I had 12 years ago) and I think I'm happy.... just need to organise picking it up now

Gratuitous Jaaaaag picture or 2 to follow - I absolutely love it and have yet to drive anything that compares - shame the bottom dropped out of the pricing of euro5 ones 6 months after I bought it But as I'm going to keep it and put chargeable work miles on it, I'm happy (and will probably get another in about 3 years) Screenshot_20240117_163425_Auto Trader.jpg Screenshot_20240117_163417_Auto Trader.jpg Screenshot_20240117_163444_Auto Trader.jpg Screenshot_20240117_163421_Auto Trader.jpg

Oh, indeed.... now I have a pair of money pits - but I think they'll both be cheaper than a 2.8d Grand Voyager on its own.... .. £100+ for 2 fan belts and a tensioner and the 2week wait for them was the straw that broke the Chryslers back

Ditch the Voyager, get a 300c :) my neighbour has one, not had any issues with it, apart from a bad ballast for the headlight. ;)

Proper gone off American domestic products - they're dire.
Aren't the 300c the ones that look like something out of wacky races?

It's not that elegant in saloon form, either of the years, but the estate is far easier on the eyes.
I'm an American car fan, had many, but I think the US car manufacturers lost the plot after the 70's with their chunky retros.
